A dense floral Sarouk in lustrous wool, this antique rug measures 10' 0" x 14' 5". A saturated purple field is enlivened by cream and white palmettes, vases and scrolling vines rendered in compact, refined drawing. The piece shows low distress and an even pile that accentuates a soft sheen and subtle abrash across the field. Borders remain articulate with only light edge wear, allowing the floral grammar to read clearly. Circa 1910 - 1950. The result is a tactile, heritage-aware Sarouk that speaks to early 20th-century design and careful use over time.
