A Sivas in a muted, sun-washed palette, this antique rug measures 6' 8" x 9' 10". The field reads as a softened medallion composition, the central motif and scrolling palmettes reduced to gentle outlines in cream and pale gold. Faded terracotta corner spandrels and delicate floral sprigging remain legible beneath a mellow surface patina. Medium distress and subtle abrash have smoothed contrasts and produced a tactile, low-relief texture that emphasizes age and craft. The ornate guard border frames the piece with understated detail, a quiet example of sustained handwork and time. Circa 1890 - 1905.
