A softly faded Ghiordes in warm wool tones, this antique rug reads as a study in restraint. The low‑contrast central diamond sits within a serrated field and is counterbalanced by diagonal spandrels and a floral palmette border. Cream and ivory ground areas are threaded with muted red and ochre accents that have mellowed with time, lending a pictorial, sun‑kissed patina. Medium distress and gentle abrash reveal a lived surface and supple hand. Circa 1885 - 1905. Measurements: 4' 3" x 5' 10". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
