An assured Hook runner in wool, this antique rug measures 4' 0" x 1' 10" and reads as a study in refined motifs. Three linked floral roundels sit against a soft neutral ground, the composition enlivened by saturated red petals, cream highlights and restrained green accents. The hooked surface retains a low, tactile pile and shows minimal wear; the narrow dark border contains the motifs with quiet clarity. Circa 1900 - 1915. The piece has a calm, lived-in character, handmade presence, preserved proportion and a colour palette that feels deliberate and well tended.
