This Ghiordes antique rug measures 3' 10" x 6' 3" and carries a saturated rose ground lifted by ivory, muted sage, plum, and charcoal accents. The composition is defined by an arching central field, floral stems, and a finely worked border that gives the design a measured, architectural presence. Its wool surface shows medium distress, with visible wear and softened colour that deepen the sense of age. Circa 1925 - 1955, it reads as a timeworn yet vivid expression of Ghiordes weaving, where ornament and atmosphere remain closely held together.
