This Ghiordes antique rug measures 4' 7" x 9' 7" and presents a timeworn field of faded rose, cream, and brown, gathered into a long, architectural composition. A central medallion runs through the length of the rug, framed by layered floral cartouches and a series of finely drawn borders that feel both orderly and weathered. The wool surface shows medium distress, with softened detail, visible fading, and a relaxed, lived-in hand. Circa 1880 - 1910, it carries the quiet tension of age and ornament that defines the most evocative Ghiordes pieces.
