This Ghiordes antique rug measures 3' 6" x 6' 3" and carries the quiet irregularity of age in its softened pile and faded field. A layered composition of floral panels, small rosettes, and border fragments gives the surface a collected, almost mosaic-like rhythm, while burgundy, sage, pale aqua, ochre, and terracotta sit against an ivory ground. The worn edges and muted contrasts add depth rather than formality. Circa 1915 - 1930, it reads as a wool weaving shaped by time, with a restrained palette and a distinctly lived-in presence.
