This Seneh antique rug in wool measures 4' 5" x 6' 3" and presents a finely worked allover field of compact floral and geometric forms against a deep dark ground. The border reads warmer and lighter, with folk-inspired motifs in tan, cream, muted pink, and soft blue-green that gently frame the composition. Its low distress shows in softened colour and mellow wear, giving the surface a quiet, lived-in depth. Circa 1885 - 1900, it carries the balanced intricacy and restrained palette that define the character of a well-preserved Seneh. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
