This Ghiordes antique rug measures 3' 10" x 5' 9" and presents a quiet, timeworn symmetry shaped by a prayer-niche field, layered borders, and small-scale floral ornament. The palette moves through neutral ivory, sage, olive, dusty rose, and faded coral, with deeper burgundy accents softened by age. A central field of concentrated wear opens the design, giving the surface a beautifully lived-in, textural character. Circa 1880 - 1900, it carries the restrained elegance and softened contrast that define a well-aged Ghiordes. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
