A Larestan woven in wool, this large antique rug presents a softened, neutral palette, cream ground warmed by beige and occasional pale blue accents. The field reads as an allover floral arabesque, palmettes and scrolling vines resolved into a layered, multi-tier border. Surface wear and abrash have softened the motif edges and created a linen-like patina across the pile, lending an immediate sense of age and tactility. Circa 1885 - 1905. 11' 11" x 14' 11" is the exact size; the piece speaks to practiced handwork and timeworn restraint rather than bright colour or crisp definition.
