An elegant Serapi in wool, this antique rug measures 9' 10" x 12' 8" and presents a restrained, neutral-driven palette of ivory, terracotta and deep blue. The design pairs a central medallion with layered floral arabesques and pronounced corner spandrels, all framed by a wide floral border. Low visible distress preserves crisp motif definition while gentle abrash in the red field and soft surface wear lend a tactile, timeworn presence. Circa 1880 - 1900, the piece reads as a studied Serapi where colour modulation and pattern cadence are central. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
