A long, narrow N.W. Persian runner in wool, defined by a procession of geometric medallions set against a deep indigo ground and punctuated by rust and brown accents. An ivory serrated main border frames the central field while smaller guard bands offer rhythmic contrast. The weave shows low distress and a tactile, intact pile that reads as quietly worn rather than battered. The colours retain a vivid, natural depth with subtle abrash across the blues. This antique rug carries a strong sense of hand and time, a measured patina that highlights pattern and material. Circa 1885 - 1900. Size: 3' 6" x 14' 7".
