This Serapi antique rug measures 9' 1" x 13' 7" and presents a saturated field of red balanced by blue, muted pink, and neutral notes. A strong central medallion anchors the composition, while angular floral vines and stepped corner elements give the drawing its distinctive Serapi character. The border is finely articulated, carrying the pattern outward with rhythm and restraint. Woven in wool, the surface shows low distress, with softened colour and age wear that enrich the overall presence. Circa 1880 - 1895. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
