Tabriz Haji Jalili is an antique rug in wool, 9' 1" x 12' 4". A large ivory medallion anchors a warm red field, the corners filled with deep navy spandrels and sinuous vine work. Small floral sprays and restrained gold accents articulate a composed, garden-like ground while layered cream borders provide quiet structure. The piece shows low, even wear and subtle abrash that reveal age without sacrificing clarity; the wool pile retains a tactile nap. Circa 1900 - 1930. The result is a measured, design-literate example of Tabriz drawing and dye, preserved with a calm, lived-in elegance.
