A quietly weathered Larestan runner in wool, this antique rug reads as a study in muted brown and cream. The long field carries a restrained floral arabesque and palmette fragments, traced in dark navy accents that survive like ink on paper. Wear has softened the motif edges and yielded an even patina across the 6' 0" x 13' 3" span, lending the piece a tactile, lived-in presence. The borders remain legible though softened by time. Circa 1885 - 1915. The rug’s restrained palette and surface texture speak to handwork and age with discreet, design-forward character.
